Simple Christmas Wrapping

My first real job was wrapping gifts at a department store during the holiday season. I have been obsessed with wrapping pretty packages ever since.

This year I wanted to do something different, but simple.

This is just your basic packing paper, raffia, and inexpensive cheap gold ornaments from Walmart. Super easy and budget friendly! I love how the gold star looks with the brown paper.

For the kids packages I wanted to do something a little more fun.

Same concept. Just Christmas paper, raffia, and a candy cane.

Now I just need to focus and get them all wrapped!

  1. Oh I love this idea too Trace! In fact, I went a little further one year by "storyboarding" on the raffia - personalizing each gift with several cartoon panels for the receiver. Just a little memory or two - shared laughter and fun moments. It was a huge hit.

I think what would be even more fun would be to let your boys "color" the wrapping paper one year. That paper would be a real treasure for grandparents I'm sure!

Anyway, thanks for reminding me how lovely simple wrapping can be!

  2. Oh coloring the paper would be so much fun! Of course, Jack might do that this year if I'm not watching. :)

  3. Love the simplicity. I did this several years ago with red raffia and it was adorable, too. I love the touch of the ornament. Merry Christmas!
